Wondering if there is some budget friendly way to replace my right side or both if that's the only option PCB for my Ergodox EZ - my version has mini usb, would be cool if there would be PCB with USB C already on board so I would not have to solder anything, cause I don't even have soldering iron or too much knowledge about PCB's.

As it has integrated palm rests which means you can have both palm rests and tenting, as opposed to the wing rests that come with the ergodox ez and only lay flat. I am however, not sure if it's compatible with the ergodox ez pcb. So my first question is - can I use the ergodox ez pcb in that case, or is it for some different flavor of ergodox?

For orders made prior to February 15, 2022, the ErgoDox EZ came with USB A to mini USB cable for connecting your keyboard to your computer. On February 15 we switched to a USB Type C connector. The board also ships with a TRRS cable for connecting the two halves together. The USB cable is 210cm long and the TRRS cable is 70cm long.

there's a picture on the change it yourself page on the ergodox-ez website that shows the switches mount to a plate, but the PCB has holes on the middle right and left sides that PCB-mounted switches can go in. . All that to say, the ergodox-ez appears to be plate-mounted, but in a way that you can use either plate-mounted or pcb-mounted switches.

Short answer: nope. Also have foam and lubed switches. No films. Erogodoz-EZ case is pretty bad. Feels super cheap. Gotta love the split layout and being off the shelf plus hotswap though. Curious if anyone has done anything outside this and/or getting a case from falbatech. Avastgard • 2 yr. ago.
